Hello everybody! Well, it’s finally here. What did you think of the first spin off Star Wars film?

Jyn Erso, a Rebellion soldier and criminal, is about to experience her biggest challenge yet when Mon Mothma sets her out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. With help from the Rebels, a master swordsman, and non-allied forces, Jyn will be in for something bigger than she thinks. The first in the standalone Star Wars films, Rogue One sets up the events of the original trilogy.
ABOUT DAMN TIME! Rogue One is finally here and we can sink our teeth into this bastard. I would like to give a shout out to the entire cast, as not a single person felt out of placed and they managed to make me care about all of them. The film is much darker than the rest, which I wasn’t expecting at all until I walked in. I knew characters would me their demises, but I didn’t expect what actually happened. As a whole, the film is absolutely beautiful and scored perfectly, but I would expect nonetheless from a Star Wars film. Even if it is a spin-off. As far as these standalone films go, Rogue One gives me high hopes that they could actually be solid.
I am going to give you the best piece of advice I could…don’t try to understand the WHY. Easily the worst part about Rogue One is that the story becomes a little bit convoluted at some points, so you find yourself asking why the hell some characters are motivated to do stupid things. Again, don’t necessarily focus on the WHY, but gladly focus on the rest. As for the overall quality of the film, it has to be one of the most satisfying Star Wars films I have seen.
- Entire cast performance.
- Can rightly be considered a Star Wars film.
- Convoluted plot.
SCORE: 8.5 / 10
