The more and more we cover the career path that these two are taking, our impressions of them just keep increasing. Today we are headed over to SLANDER and NGHTMRE’s Gud Vibrations for “Love is Gone”, the latest epic bop from SLANDER and Dylan Matthew. SLANDER has been very busy since bursting onto the scene in 2014 (with their ever-popular Showtek remix), but throughout 2019 and 20 we are expected to see numerous original productions and a further grounding of their “heaven trap” style. With multiple original releases under their belt in the last few months, there is no way we can stop the SLANDER now, especially since they have extra ammunition in their corner. This is their fourth collaboration with Dylan Matthew, so clearly SLANDER is doing something right to keep everyone coming back for more.
“‘Love Is Gone‘ is our biggest endeavor to date. The accompanying video has been in the works for the past 3 years and is comprised entirely of movie level CGI. Just the rendering process took over 3 months to complete. We are thrilled to finally give our fans a glimpse into this new universe we are creating for them, which comprises our new show visuals, this video, and a secret future project. We’ve been tight lipped about all of this until now and we are so happy to finally reveal some pieces to the story. This one has been a long time coming and we can’t wait to slowly reveal what’s next! Shout out to Roboto for absolutely crushing the video and showing us that there really is no limit on human creativity if enough time and effort is laid down. Also we would like to thank our long-time collaborator Dylan Matthew for once again delivering a stellar vocal performance. At this moment, we are the most proud we have ever been of a project, and we hope you guys enjoy the fruits of our labor.” – SLANDER
“It is great to see this finally coming out. I want to thank all the artists involved in this project because they are integral parts of it. Can’t wait to show to show you what else is in store! Also RIP to all the GPU’s that passed away in the making of this video.” – Roboto
While more recently we have heard SLANDER experiment and grow their dubstep and hard-hitting bass, all of that has been traded up for high-flying melodies and emotion-filled vocal work. While Dylan Matthew’s organic, raw, and emotional vocal performance steals the show, SLANDER has a pretty impressive production weaved around it. SLANDER crafts an additional layer of emotion with sweet instrumental melodies, complemented by cinematic chords and the delicate strums of a piano key, completing the vision of heartbreak that vocals portray.
However, while we are absolutely in love with “Love is Gone” what really blows us away is the music video. The music video is beautiful and surreal, allowing listeners to join a spaceman as he searches for a particular star. The journey that plays out on screen is gorgeous and ethereal, giving fans the opportunity to dip into the minds of SLANDER, even just for a moment. The entire production took over three years to complete, as well as three months to render! We have to applaud everyone who was involved in the music video’s production, as it is one of the best we have seen in years.
