Let’s “Rise” and Absolutely Kill It With Plastik Funk

It is about time we came off our weekend high and are treated to some fantastic new tunes. This time we revisited Armada Deep for “Rise” yet another Plastik Funk release. Plastik Funk sure has been extremely busy hasn’t he? The man behind the stage name, Rafael  Ximenez-Carrillo, has been rather busy making waves and generating music for the masses. Rafael has played some of the best festivals and shows underneath Armada Music. Most recently, Rafael began his #FunkYouVeryMuch Monthly Radion Show which is just filled with pure energetic tracks.

Now “Rise” has to quite possibly be our favorite track from Plastik Funk this far. Funk showcases his groovy driving bassline and it appeals to that weekend warrior part of us. Sure we grind hard during the week, but that grind continues through the weekend. To top things off, the track could easily be considered nu-disco (which we love) and has motivational lyrics that were designed to pump us up.  Let’s sign off with just a few words from the man himself, as no one can describe it better than him.

“It all started with a bootleg using the vocal of “Rise” a while ago to rock it in my sets. People just went crazy when I played it so I decided to do it officially…With the signing on Armada it got real and I can’t wait to finally release this club and festival bomb!” – Plastik Funk

Disco With That Modern Twist, Canadian Duo Fabrikate Release New Single “By My Side”

Sometimes we have those difficult weekends where we just need to power through it, but need just that right beat to keep pushing. Today we have just that track you’re looking for with a few buddies from up North known as Fabrikate, who brings us their latest release “By My Side”. By no means a household name, Fabrikate exploded on the scene after garnering success from Shazam for the remix of The Weeknd’s “The Hills”, Fabrikate is continuing on their trail of success with the release of the last album “Bodies”, which gained millions of streams and even support from major powerhouse Diplo. Clearly this duo is doing something right.

What makes Fabrikate stand out, especially on “By My Side”, is their unusual style that feels more retro than anything. Inspired heavily by the popular aspects of disco and classic R&B, “By My Side” is just another example that Disco can easily be adaptable in this new age of music. Disco with a modern twist sounds just about right. Fun fact, “By My Side” was actually on created in one day by the duo, as they were messing around with synths during the middle of a snowstorm. The best origin stories are definitely the weirder ones.

Make sure you give “By My Side” a full listen here:

Ultra Music’s Fresh Meat: Max Lean Releases His Summer 2017 Anthem “You & Me”

What is the best feeling that a small site like ours can feel? That feeling of accepting someone new into the fold. Today we have the latest from Max Lean, a relative newcomer to the scene, with “You & Me”. While we can say that Max Lean is a newcomer now, it won’t be for much longer. Max has already released on three major labels including Armada Music, Universal Music, and now Ultra. We hope that Max has finally found a hom with Ultra, as his talents and skills can only rise from here.

With being the newest to the Ultra Music label, especially right during festival season, Max had to make a serious splash with audiences. For “You & Me” he spent time in Spain and Germany with fellow artist Conrow in an attempt to make this year’s summer anthem. The combination of Conrow’s impressive vocal work and Max’s driving and groovy beats give “You & Me” a rather nonchalant vibe, but you can’t help but sing and sway along to each note and beat.

Be sure you give “You & Me” a full listen below:
