Uprising Russian Producer HYPRESSION Drops Deep Bass House “Cold Blood” EP

For those that have stuck around for long, it’s definitely been a spell since we had fresh blood to add the catalog. This time we are heading on over to Bite This! for the brand new Cold Blood EP from HYPRESSION. Hailing from the motherland of Russia, this twenty-year-old producer has been crafting a deep four on the floor bass house style that will pique listeners’ interest. HYPRESSION has already racked up those respect points with prominent members of the industry such as Diplo, The Chainsmokers, and Bite This! label boss Jauz. While HYPRESSION just had his breakthrough with his collaboration on Jauz’s track “On Fire” last year, this artist is ready and prepared to take the center stage himself.

Is it just us or is the Russian electronic scene producing even more amazingly skilled talent than normal? HYPRESSION makes a strong debut with his Cold Blood EP. creating an enigmatic yet nostalgic aura in the backing. All three tracks are fantastic and a joy to our ears, sounding distinctly different from each other yet flowing seamlessly. HYPRESSION figured out the formula, with a blend of bass house and melody he can mentally transport us into his soundscape. While we highly recommend grooving along to the entire EP, if you have to pick a single track check out “Kitchen House”. The track has an addictive beat and his to most nostalgic out of the bunch, yet it even feels cinematic within its dips.

Make sure you check out the Cold Blood EP on Spotify below!

What the Hell Did We Just Watch? Valentino Khan Drops Perplexing “Pony” Music Video

Sometimes a music video’s choice in direction may be questionable but turn into something cringy and memeable. Today we’re back again with Mad Decent and Valentino Khan with a brand new music video for his latest track “Pony”  Bursting onto the scene in 2014, Khan received almost immediate success with his first “In Khan We Trust” EP after being released on Skrillex’s OWSLA label. Khan quickly entranced listeners with his blend of hardstyle, trap, and heavy house that even led to his original track “Deep Down Low” being one of the most played track in 2015. While four years have passed, Khan has easily honed his skills as a remix master and we can’t see what he does next.

Somehow this is not the kind of video we were expecting when we heard Khan dropped “Pony”‘s music video. Prepare yourselves for a double take, as this video is definitely a bit out there. The video starts with a group of elderly women, who begin to provocatively dance and perform rituals out in the desert landscape. While it’s initially unclear the purpose, it’s revealed that these women summon the titular gorgeous white pony with a luscious reddish mane. Now in complete control of the horse’s body, one of the women dances and trots while the rest dance around her. She is later mounted by a possible horse salesman and rides off into the swirling background. We repeat, what the hell did we just watch?

Booty-Grinding Bass is in the Air! Valentino Khan Drops New Bass House Track “Pony”

No, despite everything that it looks like, this is not an electronic country track. On our trek this week we are visiting Mad Decent for “Pony”, the latest track from Valentino Khan. Bursting onto the scene in 2014, Khan received almost immediate success with his first “In Khan We Trust” EP after being released on Skrillex’s OWSLA label. Khan quickly entranced listeners with his blend of hardstyle, trap, and heavy house that even led to his original track “Deep Down Low” being one of the most played track in 2015. While four years have passed, Khan has easily honed his skills as a remix master and we can’t see what he does next.

While this may be the season for pre-summer anthems, we still need plenty of booty-shaking bass house to keep the party from screeching to a halt. The first official single off of Kahn’s upcoming EP, “Pony” was crafted with the dancefloor center stage in mind. The track’s basslines are heavy-hitting and bouncy, with cheeky sound effects such as the clops of a horse trotting and clear influences from the days of garage house. We will not be surprised when “Pony” lights up dance floors this summer, especially with Khan’s growing success.  While “Pony” is a follow up to January’s “Novocaine“, Khan even recently sold out a show at the Hollywood Palladium with special guests Shaquille O’Neal (DJ DIesel) and Snoop Dogg.

Make sure you check out “Pony” on Spotify and Soundcloud below!
