Russian Duo Denis First & Reznikov Drop Emotional Dancefloor Bop “Empty”

While education in music isn’t necessarily required, some would argue that it definitely helps. This part of our trip we are stopping off at Enhanced music for “Empty”, a brand new track from Denis First and Reznikov.  Both coming from academically trained music backgrounds, the two began experimenting in electronic music while making unofficial remixes of their favorite tracks. The duo would later official form and release their first track back in 2016, with many other official remixes following. Now that they have dropped “Empty”, these two are showcasing their versatility in original tracks. If Denis First & Reznikov are not on your radar, that needs to be fixed.

It didn’t take forever to record this song – it was actually pretty quick! When we first heard the vocals, we knew how the music would sound so once we got to the studio, the idea was here already – all we had to do is to implement it into music. “Empty” turned out pretty emotional, and it makes you wanna dance and think about something significant at the same time.” – Denis First & Reznikov.

It takes quite a bit of skill to envoke the same amount of emotion as solid vibes on the dance floor. “Empty” gives off a precarious tone, as the track feels futuristic and progressive yet haunting at the same time. The track feels like we should put it on late at night as we drive down the highway. The soulful vocal work compliments the track as well, creating this eerie yet hopeful feeling of loneliness. These Russian producers may not have many originals under their belt, but “Empty” proves that their style is unique and still evolving.

When We Are Divided, Cuebrick is Here to Help “United”

Hey look, a wild Cuebrick has appeared! This artist has sure been busy since he last visited us in April. Cuebrick brings with him his latest release over on Enhanced, “United”, in collaboration with fellow artist The Future Is Mine. As we mentioned above, Cuebrick has been busy playing every festival known to man over the last year. This is an impressive feat, as he only broke onto the EDM scene three years following some success in Germany’s dance scene. Since appearing on the scene, Cuebrick has been able to garner plenty of support from powerhouses such as Tiesto, Nicky Romero, and Armin Van Buuren.

Now how is the gift that Cuebrick brought us? His most recent collaboration, “United” is a track that tells the story of a community, no a nation divided, and how we need to be united in times of struggle. Music is a universal language, after all.  The track features moving vocals and soothing melodies, all over some soft chords that are even more complimented by the last-minute choir providing back up. The message is uplifting: “It is time to recognize that we share hopes, dreams, fears, and struggles…we are one.’

Be sure to listen to “United” below!

Your Weekend is Enhanced with “Crawl” From APEK & MAXR

Some of the artists we cover are one-offs, so it takes quite a bit to impress us and keep coming back. To wrap up our weekend we have “Crawl”, the latest original production from American producer APEK. One of the core artists under the Enhanced Recordings label, APEK has had success with both his original tracks and remixes. What can be better than that? This has led to numerous collaborations with the likes of Cuebrick, Feenixpawl, and Breathe Carolina. This hasn’t limited APEK just to the studio however, as he has taken multiple solo tours in the United States and India.

Considering the tracks that APEK has brought to us in the past, “Crawl” has to be our personal favorite. We absolutely love it when APEK is able to collaborate with another artist and this most recent collab with Baltimore native MAXR is quite the match. Their combined styles blend so well together that when you add vocalist Denny White’s vocal work to the mix, you may have a successful track on your hands. Keep them coming APEK, keep them coming.

Now just a few words from the brains behind this track:

Crawl is a song that has been a long time in the making, over a year actually. Its gone through several different versions, too many to count! But in the end couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I’ve wanted to work with Denny for a while and was really excited when he sent me this vocal, and when I teamed up with MAXR the ideas instantly started flowing. I think this song will be worth the wait, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!” – APEK

This track is a special one for both of us I think. Josh(APEK) has been a mentor to me in this game for awhile now and having the opportunity to work with him on this one was kind of like coming full circle. The track itself started with the amazing vocals APEK sent to me from Denny. I put together a rough draft of the track in about 2-3 days but the song itself went back and forth between us for about 2 months in order to get everything just right. APEK really took it to the next level with some of the melodic elements he added and what resulted was what you hear now.” – MAXR
