SLANDER Asks the Important Question…Are You “Happy Now”?

<Insert pun about SLANDER(ing) here>. Setting ablaze to our Saturday night we have “Happy Now”, the latest monster from SLANDER over on Monstercat. SLANDER has been very busy since bursting onto the scene in 2014 (with their ever-popular Showtek remix), but throughout 2017 and 18 we are expected to see numerous original productions and a further grounding of their “heaven trap” style. If these two keep this up, they may be one of our favorite artists of 2018. Will it be their year?

While SLANDER has become rather synonymous with their hard “heaven trap” style of bass music, the duo decided to take “Happy Now” in a different direction and show us their sensitive side. The track serves as a delightful yet nostalgic ode to the high times in that one broken relationship each one of us has had. SLANDER compliments this ode with utterly cinematic basslines that are going to slay listeners all around the world.  Need a bit of icing on the cake? “Happy Now” is rounded out with a light and airy melody that wraps everything up with a nice little bow.

You can still check out SLANDER in the flesh at these venues:

Notaker’s First 2018 Release With Grey MTTR “Too Smooth”

It feels like Notaker is pumping out hit after hit, it never stops! In the middle of this work week, we have Notaker’s latest project “Too Smooth” over on Monstercat. Notaker has been rather busy and is quickly being noticed, as this track is being released with Armada Captivating. Fantastic record label, but it just keeps being better. Notaker’s style, reminiscence of superstars such as Deadmau5 and Hans Zimmer, will be nailed his next release over on mau5trap. 2017 sure has been Notaker’s year and it won’t be calming down anytime soon. Keep it up Notaker…we will be waiting.

Another refreshing departure from what we normally expect from the atmospheric Notaker, “Too Smooth” showcases Notaker’s diverse abilities as a producer. Notaker moves from the sonic journeys that we have come to know and moves towards the world of funk. The track features some fantastic funky beats, deep house bass lines and playful lyrics to go on with that flirty and sultry vocal work. Notaker teamed up with Grey MTTR on “Too Smooth”, and we are glad this collaboration happened.

Make sure you give “Too Smooth’ a listen here:

It’s Time to Join Notaker on His Journey of “Genesis”

After receiving Notaker’s first single “Who I Am” earlier this month, we have been impatiently waiting for this release. Now it’s time we close out October with the full EP, Genesis.

Oh Genesis, we have been waiting for you. A digital device designed to warp your sense of space and time, Notaker invites you to take a journey on the wings of this beast he calls Genesis. The EP consists of five tracks, each mixed and mastered to flow seamlessly into each other to create a sense of awe that music does so well. Whether it be soothing yet distant vocals, atmospheric/ambient beats, or the electronic synths, some element is going to capture and entrance you into taking the journey. While our personal favorite track is “Just Close Your Eyes”, we could pick any of the five to play on repeat.

TRACK LISTING:

  1. “Just Close Your Eyes”
  2. “Who I Am”
  3. “So Much Love”
  4. “Wake Up, You’re Dreaming”
  5. “Terra”

Make sure you give Genesis a full listen here:
