Protocol Alert! 100th Release Incoming With Nicky Romero’s “PRTCL” Ft. Spyder

Oh, it’s not often that we have a chance to showcase a label boss’s release here on MiR. Anyway, rounding out this weekend we have a special treat…the 100th release from Protocol Recordings! For this special occasion Protocol’s label boss Nicky Romero teamed up with fellow Protocol artist Spyder to create “PRTCL”. Always having a forward-thinking initiative, Protocol has been at the forefront of the modern electronic music movement since 2012. After having a monumental 2017, we are excited about what the label will be able to accomplish in 2018, If “PRTCL” is any indication, it will be absolutely great.

We seriously can’t believe that Protocol is now at their 100th release, what an achievement. Proving why he is still one of the most influential DJs in the movement now, Romero created “PRTCL” to honor what Protocol has accomplished so far.  Romero brought back the high-energy groove that made Romero a household name early on in his career and teamed up with Spyder to elevate it to the next level. Whether it is that high energy groove, the bouncing basslines, or the sweet cinematic melody, “PRTCL” feels timeless and is a perfect example of what Protocol has to offer.

Make sure you give “PRTCL” a full listen below:

Panda Funk Screams Into 2018 With “Infected” by GARABATTO & Charlee Muse

Alright Panda Funk, what do you have for us today? Closing out this weekend we are back with the first 2018 release from Deorro’s Panda Funk, who bring us their latest track “Infected” from relative newcomers GARABATTO & Charlee Muse. Panda Funk continually strives to stand out from the crowd, working as more of a collective than just another record label. This Panda Funk movement of forward-thinking artists and producers plan to keep tearing up dance floors worldwide. With influences from house, bass music, and techno, there is no limit to what the Panda Funk catalog can accomplish.

How about it is time for you to come get “Infected” with us? Yes, we know it’s cheesy. This new track highlights one of GARABATTO’s signatures, the ability to create dark yet light-hearted beats that play with your emotions every second you give them. The track tells the story of the journey to fill a void in your life with instant gratification, and it is eerily beautiful.

“The vibe behind GARABATTO‘s beat gave off dark, but still, light feeling that inspired the lyrical story of trying to fill an empty heart with temporary satisfaction. It was so fun to work with GARABATTO and I love the song so much!” – Charlee Muse

Make sure you give “Infected” a full listen below:

Datsik Crushes the Start of 2018 With New “Master Of Shadows” EP

Alright everyone, make way for this modern-day music innovator. Kicking off 2018 with an absolute smash we have the latest from music-mixer Datsik with his new Master of Shadows EP. Datsik brings this EP from his own Firepower Records, which is proud to release this new pack. A mainstay in the modern bass music industry since 2009, Datsik has been continuously slaying the music game with his forward thinking and evolving style. Datsik will keep changing and molding the modern bass music scene in whatever image he sees fit, and we are glad to give him the tools.

Nw, we need to dissect this Master of Shadows EP with a fine tooth comb. Serving as the official launch to Datsik’s mega 55+ stop Ninja Nation Tour, you know that it is going to have to showcase some of Datsik’s best work. Our personal favorite, as well as the standout track on the EP, has to be given to the opening track “Pressure Plates”. The track is a complete showcase of many Datsik signatures, such as fantastic wobbles and a throbbing bass line to keep you grooving throughout the entire rest of the EP.
